Holy Face Prayer Group
The Holy Face prayer group was formed in order to practice the devotion to the Holy Face as received by Sr. Mary of St. Peter, a Discalced Carmelite nun who lived in France during the early 1800s. She received visions and revelations which received Papal approval on October 1st, 1885, when Pope Leo XIII established the Archconfraternity of the Holy Face. In the communications she received from Jesus, Sr. Mary was told that mankind urgently needed to make reparation to God for sins of blasphemy and the profanation of Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation.
We pray the Holy Face chaplet as an act of reparation as well as for our group/personal intentions and seven Hail Marys in honor of Our Lady’s Sorrows. We also offer prayers in honor of the Precious Blood of Jesus for protection and to help free people from their attachments to sin.
The group meets six days per week, Monday through Saturday at 8:15 a.m. in the Crying Room near the main entrance of the church. On Saturdays we are currently reading the book, Unveiling the Sixth Station of the Cross. Feel free to join any day(s) of the week you can make it.
