Altar Servers

The Ministry of Altar Servers invites our children and youth from Grade 3 through High School to participate in the parish’s worship. Altar Servers assist the priests and deacons in the celebration of Sunday and daily Masses, Weddings, Funerals and other special Liturgical events. Being an Altar Server enables our young people to gain a greater appreciation and understanding of their faith and of the Liturgy of the Church.

The Altar Server Ministry has grown to 48 members in 2023! Besides the 6 regular masses each weekend they also serve masses for Easter, First Communion, Our Lady of Fatima, Corpus Christi, All Saints’ Day, All Soul’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Weddings, and Funerals.  We are so happy for the continued support of our experienced servers and also for the new servers this year. In addition to serving, many of the children are members of other church ministries, participate in church events, sports, dance, music groups and scouts. We are grateful for the time they give to this church and this ministry. The parent committee hosted a BBQ in August to thank them for their service to the church. We hope to be able to host more of these events in the coming year to show our gratitude.

As parents we can tell our children how important the work they are doing is but hearing it from others does wonders. We are grateful to the parishioners that compliment and encourage the servers. We implore you to take a moment to thank the servers, let them know they are doing a great job and that their presence is appreciated. A little thank you and encouragement goes a long way. These kids are the future of our church and can use as much positive motivation they can get and the reminder that they are part of a bigger church family.

St. Tarcisius

Patron Saint of Altar Servers

O God, You have graciously called me to serve You upon Your altar. Grant me the graces that I need to serve You faithfully and wholeheartedly. Grant too, that while serving You. may I follow the example of St. Tarcisius, who died protecting the Eucharist, and walk the same path that led him to Heaven.

St. Tarcisius, pray for me and for all servers.

Amen.

St. Tarcisius Feast Day is August 15th
